The True False Film Festival returns today for another fantastic extended weekend of entertainment.

Friday will feature “March March,” the kickoff parade. The parade is a free event open to all members of the public. Everyone is welcome to come and participate in the parade or view as a spectator.

This year’s theme is “There Are No Small Stories.” Participants are encouraged to dress colorfully, construct and carry fun props, make noise and push the level of imagination. In short, this is an opportunity for parade participants to make their own scene at this year’s True False Film Festival!

The parade will be led by the New Orleans Free Agents Brass Band. Individuals, entertainers and groups from throughout the community will follow. The Marching Mizzou Drumline and an army of bicycles will play caboose to the parade.

There is no fee to enter the parade. March March encourages creative, fun and safe celebrations in the street. The only requirements are that you must be safe for the participants around you and the spectators on the street and that all floats must be human powered. Please, no overly commercial or political entries.

The parade will begin in the big field next to the Macklanburg Theater, march down East Broadway to Ninth Street and end at the Missouri Theatre. Staging time is 4:45 p.m. The parade will depart shortly after 5 p.m.
